Creating and transforming your living and working spaces into environments that inspire and reflect your vision is one of the most exciting and impactful projects you can invest in.

Engaging an interior designer is not something you do every day of the week. It’s a big investment, and entrusting that to the right person takes a leap of faith.

You will want to make an informed decision. With this in mind, we have compiled some answers to questions we are commonly asked about what we do, how it works and, how we do it.

We call this the fundamentals.

We offer services to cover all the fundamentals. Each project is unique and may require the skills of an architect, designer, or decorator, or all three.

DESIGNER: A good design firm has both the technical and artistic know how to completely redo any existing house, apartment, or commercial space.

ARCHITECT: To add on extensions, additional floors, to teardown or to rebuild, an architect is required.

DECORATOR: To repaint, update furniture, revitalize décor and accents, a decorator is required.

As a design firm with strong interior architecture expertise, we specialize in top-to-bottom full renovations:
• We add bathrooms, remodel kitchens, reconfigure walls and open up rooms.
• We restore original period structures and retain the   architectural integrity of older homes.
• We bring together every detail, from wall color, to art, to accessories.
• We introduce ideas you never imagined, moments that  surprise you and start conversations, lighting and    placement that give new dimension to your favorite art, and architecture that makes you silent.
• We create spaces that are timeless and remarkable.

In all this, we offer the luxury of one studio managing your aesthetic from start to finish.

• One team
• One vision
• One point of contact
• One beautiful result

If you’re looking for a complete overhaul within the existing footprint, a true design firm is what you need to handle the whole job.

We work primarily in the residential domain; making and documenting the hundreds of decisions that transform a house into a remarkable home.

Large-scale refurbishments and major renovations complete with furniture, artwork and styling form the core of our practice. We genuinely collaborate with our family of trusted suppliers, consultants and trades, and can bring in the right professionals to execute our projects through to completion.

If we can’t do the above on a project, then we’re simply not the right fit. This means we’re best suited to medium to large-scale renovations, and to clients who understand the concept of design as an investment.

We do not impose our personal style. We work to understand our clients and lead them through the design process placing value on timeless materials and sound decision-making.

Our hallmark is a solutions-based approach to design. We take a holistic approach to solving the problems that arise within day-to-day life within your home.

This is why we go to work. This is our calling.

We are designing for your future life - a life where you will want to read more, play with the kids more, cook more, enjoy the bedroom more, create more, invite people over more. And if you feel the way we do, you know that is what life is all about.

Space planning: gutting areas, preparing spaces, knocking out walls and determining new layouts.

  • Design of new doors, windows, ceilings, bulkheads, fireplaces, moldings and trim, sometimes even skylights.
  • Custom design of kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms, powder rooms and all built in millwork.
  • Selection of all finishes, fittings and lighting.
  • Preparation of construction ready drawings and   documents for individual trades or for building tender.
  • Project management throughout construction.

In short, generally taking the stress out of what can be a daunting process.

This is where we do our best work. This is our specialty, top to bottom renovations and exquisite architectural top ups.

This is where you can get the best value for your dollar and add value for resale. This is where the real business of your renovation can happen.

Renovating is just the first layer of an interior. Without the right furniture, artwork and styling pieces you’re not finished. Getting the right look requires real planning, an eye for detail, and a good grasp of the practical.

We not only create beauty, but we remove awkwardness and wasted space. We focus on the continuity between rooms so there is always an ease, a flow. We start by drawing up a floor plan, refining which furniture, fixtures, rugs, lamps and mirrors are required. We source from local and international suppliers. If we can’t find what you need, we design a bespoke piece or collaborate with our suppliers to customize one for you. In addition to furniture selection, we offer styling and artwork services to provide our clients with a custom look.

We work with North America’s premium dealers and curators, from local galleries to international houses such as Christies and Phillips, to create a layer of magic through the art you select for your home.

Budgets vary depending on your needs. Over the years, we have come to recognize there is an optimal point at which we can effect quality change. That sweet spot sits upwards of $150,000. Anything less, and our fees to complete the work will take too big a chunk out of your budget.

For furniture selections, our firm offers the best value to clients who have a purchasing budget upwards of $50,000.

We typically require two weeks in the preliminary stage to refine a project’s brief, scope and fees. The design process varies from eight weeks for small projects, up to six months for a major renovation. So it pays to start with us early to allow the design process to follow its natural timeline.

Construction time frames are typically four months for a bathroom or kitchen and up to to nine months to a year for a major, top-to-bottom project.

Furniture and styling projects have a faster turnaround. Subject to our schedule, we allow six weeks for the design process of selection and refinement. Add to that furniture lead times ranging from six to fourteen weeks. It is best to calculate six months back from that special occasion or move-in date to be sure.

It is never too early to get in touch.

If you are purchasing a home that needs immediate reworking, we suggest calling well before closing to lay the fundamentals with time to inspect and plan, and plan, and plan, ahead.

If you’re embarking on new construction that requires a separate architect, call us when you’re finalizing the initial plans so we can work in tandem with the architect to complete our design well before construction commences.

We prefer to work with one of our own architects, so the earlier we are in touch the better.

We work with many talented people to deliver our work.
